The city will launch a city-wide landline phone on Monday, 11/5/18, that states:

Welcome to the City of Mathis Community Notification System.  We will use this system to notify you via telephone in the event of emergencies and important incidents.  To receive text message notifications, text MATHIS to 888777 or go to cityofmathis.com and click on Stay Informed to sign up.

The phone number that will show in the caller ID will be 361-587-6254.  If someone calls that number, they will hear:

Welcome to the City of Mathis Community Notification System.  If you have additional questions, please call 361-547-4201 during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.  After hours, weekends and holidays, please call 361-547-2113.  Thank you and have a good day.
